I am learning to become a good father, too.
My name is Lakota. I am a Christian husband, a father of two young children, a working man, and a ministry leader. I love my wife and children deeply—and I also know how easy it is for work, responsibilities, projects, and sheer exhaustion to consume the attention they deserve.
Good Father did not begin because I have fatherhood figured out. It began because I believe our most important callings deserve more than whatever energy remains at the end of the day.
A good father is not a perfect man. He is a faithful man who keeps turning toward Christ and toward the people God has entrusted to him.
Why this exists
Many fathers carry heavy loads. We work long hours, commute, serve, maintain homes, solve problems, and try to provide. Those things matter. But provision alone is not presence, and a full calendar is not the same as a faithful life.
This site is for men who want to put God first, cherish their wives, know their children, and lead their homes with humility—even when life is busy and imperfect.
What you will find here
- Biblical encouragement without pretending that real life is simple
- Practical habits for prayer, Scripture, marriage, and fatherhood
- Honest lessons from successes, failures, and ordinary family life
- Simple rhythms that busy working fathers can actually sustain
I am writing as a fellow traveler—not from a pedestal. My hope is that we become men whose wives feel cherished, whose children feel known, and whose homes point clearly to Jesus.
